The adventure begins with an exciting private jeep tour of the San Andreas Fault including an exhilarating hike to the top of the fault line where you will enjoy spectacular views overlooking the Coachella Valley. After you've worked up an appetite from all that exploration, you'll arrive at our Old Mining Camp where you'll enjoy a hearty picnic lunch.

During lunch, you and your buddies are welcome to play the camp games including pool, foos ball, darts, and horseshoes or you can tour the town and gold mine and even pan for gold!

Everyone will leave with smiles and fond memories of your day of adventure on the San Andreas Fault!

Tour Minimums / Maximums:

• This tour has a 4 person minimum.

Things to Bring:

• Wear closed-toe shoes with rubber soles (such as tennis shoes or hiking boots).  Sandals and shoes with high heels are not recommended.

• Wear comfortable clothing - we recommend you dress in layers as desert temperatures can change quickly.  In the cooler months (November through March), we suggest you bring a light sweater or jacket. 

• Bring a hat and sunglasses and apply sunscreen before the tour.  

• Don't forget your camera or video camera - the photo opportunities are amazing!

Tour Departure Location:

• The primary departure location for this tour is the Metate Ranch Parking Lot (just before 39-000 Monroe Street, Indio CA).  For directions, please see:  http://red-jeep.com/directions.html.   Please note that you are going to turn RIGHT onto a DIRT ROAD just BEFORE you get to the Granite Construction Gate.  Look for the signs for Desert Adventures Metate Ranch.  

• There is plenty of FREE PARKING in the dirt parking lot.
  

• Complimentary hotel pickup is also available for guest staying in Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, or Indio.

• Hotel pickup from Rancho Mirage is available for an additional charge of $25 per jeep.

To get to our office from the I-10 Freeway: Take the I-10 Freeway to the Cook Street Exit in Palm Desert. Go South on Cook Street (heading toward Highway 111 and downtown Palm Desert). Continue on Cook Street approximately 2.6 miles. Turn right onto Hovely Lane East (first major intersection past Country Club Drive). (See below of the rest of the directions).

To get to our office from Highway 111: Take Highway 111 to Cook Street in Palm Desert. Turn North on Cook Street (heading toward the I-10 Freeway). Take Cook Street to Hovely Lane East. Turn left on Hovely Lane East.

Once you turn onto Hovely Lane East, turn left at the first street: Eclectic Avenue. If you miss Eclectic, you can also turn left at the next street which is Corporate Lane.

If you turned left at Eclectic, turn right onto the first street: Lennon Place. Or if you turned left at Corporate Lane, turn left onto the first street which is Lennon Place (but note that there is NO STREET SIGN).

Continue on Lennon Place until you reach 74-794 Lennon Place. We are in the 2nd building from the corner of Lennon Place and Corporate Way - So second to last building on the right if you turned on Eclectic Street or 2nd building on the left if you turned on Corporate Way.

Our office is directly across the street (on Lennon Place) from Burrtec Waste and Recycling and we are directly behind the US Post office on Hovely Lane East (Lennon Place runs parallel to Hovely Lane East).
