Client Testimonial:

I cannot thank you enough for your level of professionalism and excitement all the way through this process (from proposal to activation).

We heard many different comments of how awesome this experience was - (completely knocks the pants off sitting in a conf room, looking at powerpoint slides!). The fact that we were able to interact with our teammates on a level completely different from work, was highly beneficial and will prove to add to our productivity as a business.

Relationships are crucial in sales and I believe our team was able to establish some really cool and fun memories that will only strengthen these connections. I loved seeing the level of competition and interaction amongst everyone, especially since some had met for the first time, face-to-face. Most of our interaction is via phone, email, video conference… and your staff helped us put skin/personality on these voices/names.

I highly recommend Desert Adventures to any company that wants to build relationships amongst their employees, while having a blast. The service and professionalism we received were top notch.

Welcome to Adventure Challenge…where we believe that the heart of our spirit comes from our desire to play.  Adventure Challenge presents teams with a series of experiential activities that focus on people working and playing together.  The essence of Adventure Challenge is simple.  Participants learn the basics of communication, collaboration, cooperation, and trust embedded in a milieu of FUN!

Fun is contagious and people want to be part of it. People are willing to try things they might otherwise find embarrassing or difficult if they are fun.  Fun is an invitation toward active involvement.  Fun creates an immediate sense of togetherness and camaraderie that is essential to the group process.  And fun helps keep people focused, engaged and connected to each other and the activities.

The goal of the challenges is to increase each participant's ability to work effectively as part of a group and to promote communication, trust, cooperation, and collaboration among team members. The activities are designed to engage everyone in your organization, regardless of their physical ability or level.  So listen carefully and…let the games begin.  But don’t let the ‘play’ or ‘game’ in this fool you!   While all of the challenges are fun, they are a lot more difficult than you might imagine. Each can only be completed with true team collaboration and will require your team (however you define it) to successfully work together to navigate the challenges presented.

NOTE:  This program can be set up as a team activity (recommended) or challenge/competition depending on your preference. The program can also be as superficial (i.e., primarily focused on the fun aspect of the games) or in-depth as you desire.  For a true teambuilding experience, we recommend limiting the number of challenges and allowing time for in-depth debriefing following each activity.

Program Inclusions:

  • All labor, equipment, and supplies for the Adventure Challenges
  • Team facilitators
  • Event coordination
  • Bottle of champagne or sparkling cider for the winning team
  • Bottled water available throughout the program
  • All site fees and taxes

Build-a-Bike Team-Building Activity

Jeep Treasure Hunt

This engaging and challenging team building activity takes our basic Jeep Riddle Rally to a whole new level!

To start, teams are given the first piece of a torn-up Treasure Map. Their goal is to collect the missing pieces of the map and then use it to find the hidden treasure.

However, teams must work together to answer riddles and complete a series of physical and mental challenges in order to "win" the missing pieces of the map along with other clues that will help them use the map to find the treasure.

This is a face-paced "race against the clock" because the first team to locate the buried treasure shall be declared the winner and shall take home the bounty!

As an alternative, the treasure map can lead all the teams back to a location where we have buried any number of treasures in the sand - each treasure corresponding to a particular prize. This allows us to award more than one prize. Either each team can elect a representative to search for that team's treasure (which allows us to award a prize to every team) OR everyone can join in the fun to look for the treasure (this option works best when there are roughly as many prizes as people, though not all the prizes need be the same).

This program is very flexible and can be modified to suit your group's particular needs and ability level.

ROCK CLIMBING team building adventure

Desert Survival Program

Mobilize your team to develop their coaching skills, goal-setting processes and creative problem-solving expertise with this intensive team challenge.

Your team members will pair up, one person on belay supporting and observing the climber, providing the type and amount of help the climber needs—the other in a harness scaling the wall. This dynamic carries over to the workplace in the form of strong mutual support and trust.

Climbers learn the patience and persistence necessary to set and achieve realistic goals. Our Challenge-by-Choice philosophy enables every participant to experience their own success in the context of their own aspirations.

At the end of the day, participants have gained comfort with taking risks, increased their self-confidence, and improved their communication with teammates. These growth spurts occur regardless of how high individuals actually climb, because everyone is involved in the program.

Program Inclusions:

  • 26 foot portable rock wall
  • Professional staff
  • All climbing equipment
  • Insurance
  • All site fees and taxes

Chili Cook-Off

Chili Cook Off

Every gambler knows that the secret to survival is knowing what to throw away and knowing what to keep.

But do you know the height of Mt. San Jacinto?  How about the length of the San Andreas Fault?

You’d better know your desert trivia if you plan on raking in the pot today!

On the Jeep Poker Run, teams race around the valley (on-road) or desert (off-road) in their bright red jeeps answering trivia questions and solving clues in order to earn cards for their poker hand.  The answers to the riddles come from your guides’ narration – so you’d better listen carefully, then let the games begin!

The rally starts with a group welcome at the hotel.  Then the teams jump into their bright red jeeps and the RACE IS ON!   Participants return to the start of their journey (or another location if desired) with their cards at an appointed time, and the team with the winning poker hand shall be declared the winner.

Don’t count your winnings at the table, though.  There’ll be time enough for counting, when the dealing’s done!

GOOD LUCK!
