OUR GUIDES are the heart of the Desert Adventures' experience.
Famous around the world for their stores of knowledge and storytelling skills, they are trained extensively in the local plants, animals, history, and geology and Native American lore. Even the newest guides spend a minimum of three months in training before they can qualify to offer tours and all guides are CPR and First Aid certified. After a full year as a successful Desert Adventures' guide, each junior guide is honored with a “graduation” ceremony and given an Indian name, which signifies something of his or her particular personality, skills, or characteristics. Our tours are exhaustively researched and documented by the Desert Adventures' Senior Guides, then practiced and researched again before they are offered to the public. It is common for local historians, geologists, naturalists, botanists and meteorologists to consult with Desert Adventures on the fine points of our tour information. Tours are appropriate for guests aged six years to Senior Citizens. Many tours offer the chance to hike or take short walks, and we are happy to make arrangements for special physical needs. |
