“San Andreas Fault tour & so much more!”

"Thanks to our guide Darrell, this tour was much more than we could have expected and well worth the cost. Two of our party were from the Yukon and 2 from BC and we were all impressed by the knowledge and visual aids that Darrell shared with us. From the "fault" to the oasis to the village were all put into context of geography and history/evolution of the area. Darrell knew his audience well and it is clear he knows and loves his work. I know my kids and grand kids would enjoy this too. This was well organized and just the right balance of detail and "hands on" to interest us in doing other tours. Nothing like the textbooks or tours from the "olden" days! Thanks for sharing your passion Darrell aka Blackfeather.””

From the moment our wonderful guide, Russ, picked us up from our resort to the time he dropped us off 3 hours later, we were informed, engaged and interested. He tailored the tour to our needs, describing sights in detail and providing many tactile experiences for our son, who is blind. It was exciting to stand directly on the San Andreas Fault, to learn about desert plants, to see lizards and to learn the history of the area. Granola bars and cold bottled water were provided. We'd definitely recommend the "red jeep" desert adventure!””

"I went on a trip to Rancho Mirage for a company function. Taking the desert jeep tour was an option for a day activity. I grew up in the Coachella Valley but had never gone on this tour and I wanted a "tourist" feel to my trip. We had the wonderful luck of getting De as our tour guide. She was positively amazing! Fun, energetic and full of wonderful information. You can tell that she truly had a passion for what she does. We had the good fortune of only have a total of 5 people total on our trip (two couples and De) which made the experience that much more personal. She was not only information with a breathe taking view, De even shared Dates and other native berries with us. I would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting or to my family that still lives in the Coachella Valley.””

“San Andreas & Sunset Stargazing Tour”

This was such an excellent adventure starting at the arranged meeting spot. Our tour guide Tom was very knowledgeable about the areas formation & plant life. We were driven to a private 800 acre reserve where we stopped at an oasis. Tom explained the many uses of the vegetation surrounding us & where the small stream of the oasis disappears into the ground. We went through a replica Cahuilla Indian village where we had a brief summary of their way of life. At dusk, with flashlights, we walked up through a narrow canyon. When it became dark enough we where driven to an area where Tom brought out his Sky Scout which explained various stars he had pointed out to us. All in all it was a fun & informative tour.””

“What A Tour!!”

"We recently surprised our friends by booking a late afternoon and night tour of the San Andreas Fault & Stargazing combination. It was by far the best and most educational tour we have ever experienced. Our tour guide Carlos was a much better instructor than any I have ever had in my university experience. He knew the geology and astronomy facts and could answer any questions we asked during the tour. We would recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys a true learning experience.””

“Fantastic Tour and Tour Guide”

"My 84 year old mother, 2 of her friends, and I went on a private stargazing/evening tour around the fault. Teri was our guide and we could not have been more thrilled with the experience. Teri is incredibly knowledgeable and a wealth of information. She has lived here for 22 years and clearly loves this job. Her enthusiasm and love for the desert, its nuances, fauna, etc. are infectious. She also really loves astronomy. Many of the tours involve some hiking and since some in our crew were not prepared to hike much, she customized the trip to accommodate us. Thank you to all of you at Desert Adventures and, particularly, Teri.””

Great tour for tourists as well as 'weekend residents'

Took the Indian Canyon Tour with Carlos as our guide. We live in PS part-time and I wanted to introduce our grandsons from LA, to the area. All three of us had a great time and learned a lot. This is such a fascinating area: The geology and formation of the "valley", the fault lines, tectonic plates, the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The private jeep tour covers all that plus plant life, Indian tribal history etc. It includes a couple of short hikes, that are amazing and informative. However, they do require a basic level of fitness. I would highly recommend the Indian Canyon Tour to anyone who is interested in learning more about the area - from 8-80 years. The boys and I loved it.””

"We did two tours with them last week, and I'm sorry we did not have more time. We did Indian Canyons, and San Andreas Fault. They were absolutely great. Morgan Levine was our tour guide on both trips, and she was an encyclopedia of knowledge, but in a really fun way. Everyone on the tour seemed to have a great time. She made it fun for all. We'll be back, and will ask for Morgan as our guide. She made both tours a real great time for all. Hats off to Desert Adventures, and Morgan.””

Fun, While Learning

"Three of my colleagues and I took the Indian Canyon and Hiking tour this past week with Morgan as our guide. As this was our first jeep desert tour, we really didn't know what to expect ...but were thoroughly please by the entire experience. Morgan was so knowledgeable about the entire Palm Springs area, as well as the Indian culture. We were never once bored and basically hung on her every word as she explained the Indian rituals as we walked through the beautiful palms and canyon along a gently flowing stream. She showed us plants that they used for medicinal purposes, how they made rope out of the palms and how they ground seed to make flour. It was all so very interesting. My colleagues and I are hosting a conference in Palm Springs in several months and will definitely be recommending that our meeting participants take one of the many tours offered by Desert Adventures on their free afternoon. If all their guides are as professional and knowledgeable as Morgan, our participants will have a wonderful time, regardless of which tour they choose.”

This tour was an exceptional value. I feel like our family learned quite a bit. My 13& 17 year old were slightly skeptical of going on this tour, but were glad that we did it and rated it as one of the biggest highlights of our Palm Springs Trip. We are really glad that we took this tour.””

We went on this tour not knowing what to expect out of it. Our guide Russ Augustine was amazing!!! He made the whole trip so much fun. Russ had so much knowledge of the area to share with us and he made it interactive. The natural beauty we saw on this tour just took our breath away! Walking through the crevices formed by the fault and to be standing on top and be able to see the entire valley. WOW!!!! Anyone that takes this trip would be lucky to have Russ as their guide!!!””
